Role Overview
This position provides data quality assurance support for ongoing and new EDI interfaces related to a laboratory system. The role is project-based and focuses on supporting interface development projects with external systems. The specialist will ensure compliance for inbound orders and outbound results according to regulatory statutes and company policies. This is a technical analysis role that does not involve hands-on development or coding.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and troubleshoot HL7 messages, comparing inbound messages to system files.
- Identify the origin of errors, whether from the sending system, an interface engine, or configuration issues.
- Direct issues to the appropriate technical teams for resolution.
- Support interface testing, validation, and certification processes.
- Review interface specifications to identify gaps or discrepancies.
- Manage certification data, including data analysis and maintenance of quality repositories.
- Critically evaluate information from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts.
- Proactively communicate with internal and external partners to analyze information needs.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: A strong healthcare background is required, with previous experience in a medical laboratory or as a medical technologist being ideal. The role requires a project-oriented mindset focused on analysis rather than ticket resolution.
Technical Skills:- Strong knowledge of HL7 message structure, segments, and types, particularly ORM, ORU, ADT, and DFT (v2.3 and v2.5.1).
- Experience analyzing HL7 messages to identify data issues.
- Proficiency with PC applications and metric reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Cloverleaf interface engine is a plus.
- Experience with ticketing management systems is preferred but not required.
- Programming knowledge is beneficial but not required.
Work Arrangement
This is a remote-friendly position. Preference may be given to candidates local to the Burlington, NC or Durham, NC areas.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $35.00/hr to $45.00/hr on a W2 basis. This is a long-term contract engagement of 12+ months.
