Role Overview/Description
Under the direction of the Epic Training Manager, the facilitator is responsible for collaborating with Principal Trainers (PT) to deliver high-quality engaging Epic application training and educational support to both clinical and non-clinical staff. This position ensures that end users achieve proficiency in workflows, data entry, and documentation within the Epic electronic medical record system. In addition to facilitating classroom-based training, the facilitator provides individualized support during system go-live events and as needed. The role also assists Principal Trainers in iterating classroom curricula, as well as testing training environments and system upgrade builds prior to production deployment.
Responsibilities
· Classroom Instruction: Lead in-person or virtual (on camera) training sessions for physicians, clinicians, and non-clinical staff using prescribed curricula. Facilitate study halls and user settings labs.
· Class Management and Engagement: Apply adult learning principles to create an engaging learning environment. Respond to trainee questions and provide timely follow-up.
· Classroom Preparation: Set up physical or virtual training environments, prepare rosters, and ensure all teaching materials are ready before class.
· Competency Assessment: Administer and report end-user proficiency assessments to ensure staff are prepared to use the live system.
· Curriculum Feedback: Monitor and assess training effectiveness through metrics and feedback and collaborate with Principal Trainers to update or refine lesson plans and job aids.
· End-User Support: Provide at-the-elbow support during go-live events, helping users navigate the system in real-time within clinical settings. Create job aids and other end user support materials.
· System Testing: Help test training environments and lesson plans to ensure they reflect current system builds and workflows.
Required Qualifications
· Must obtain Credentialed Trainer status in assigned application within 6 weeks of assignment. This credentialing process includes the successful completion of assigned training tracks, teaching presentations (“teach backs”) before a panel, and written credentialing exams (which require a passing score of 85% or higher). Credentialing process is provided by Humana and is included in the assignment period.
· Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

· Demonstrates flexibility with respect to required changes in training content and delivery methods.
· Cooperative and approachable and takes time to listen to and address others'''''''' questions or concerns.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom.
· Demonstrated enthusiasm for technology adoption and a willingness to become a strong Epic advocate.
Preferred Qualifications
· Associate’s or higher degree or relevant experience preferred.
· Experience with adult education, instructional design, or learning management systems such as Cornerstone on Demand.
· Training, facilitation, coaching, or similar preceptor experience.
· Experience in healthcare or clinical environments.
· Strong knowledge of change management.
· Previous Epic Credentialed Trainer or Epic implementation experience.
