Job#: 3032163 Job Description: Apex Systems is looking to hire an
ONSITE Equipment Manufacturing Engineer for our client based out of
Grover, NC. This will also have a first shift Monday-Friday schedule.
Responsibilities:- Drive improvements in production equipment reliability, availability, and maintainability by reducing failure frequency and repair duration.
- Lead root-cause analysis efforts for equipment downtime, quality issues, or performance deviations using structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., 5-Why, Fishbone).
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions, using data to prioritize focus areas and validate results.
- Promote and apply principles of design for reliability and design for maintainability during new equipment design, installation, and commissioning.
- Support new equipment deployments by ensuring maintenance readiness, including spare parts planning, preventive maintenance strategies, technical documentation, and training.
- Develop proactive maintenance strategies to minimize unplanned downtime, incorporating preventive, predictive, and operator-driven (autonomous) maintenance approaches.
- Create detailed job plans for routine, complex, and proactive maintenance activities, specifying tasks, tools, resources, spare parts, and time estimates.
- Identify opportunities for equipment or process design improvements and collaborate with engineering teams to implement changes.
- Measure and track reliability improvements using data and performance metrics.
- Reduce maintenance and operational costs through optimization of maintenance activities and reliability enhancements.
- Provide technical support to maintenance technicians and operations teams as needed.
Experience:- Experience in maintenance engineering, reliability engineering, or manufacturing equipment support.
- Strong background in root-cause analysis, preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies, and equipment reliability principles.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision while influencing others through technical expertise and data-based recommendations.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and maintenance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage moderately complex technical issues.
- Effective communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
