FHIR Healthcare Integration Developer (W2 Position)

Job Description :
FHIR Technology Developer with strong experience in healthcare interoperability and healthcare data exchange standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting FHIR-based healthcare integration solutions to enable seamless data exchange across healthcare systems and applications.
The candidate should have expertise in HL7/FHIR standards, API development, healthcare integration platforms, and cloud-based healthcare technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement FHIR-based APIs and healthcare interoperability solutions.
Build and maintain healthcare integrations using HL7 v2, HL7 v3, CDA, and FHIR standards.
Develop RESTful APIs and microservices for healthcare applications.
Collaborate with business analysts, healthcare SMEs, architects, and development teams to understand integration requirements.
Perform mapping, transformation, and validation of healthcare data across systems.
Integrate EHR/EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, or Meditech.
Troubleshoot interoperability and integration issues in production and non-production environments.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and healthcare security standards.
Participate in system design, code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation activities.
Optimize performance and scalability of FHIR services and APIs.
Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for healthcare applications.
Required Skills
Strong experience with HL7 FHIR standards and healthcare interoperability.
Experience in developing FHIR resources, profiles, extensions, and implementation guides.
Hands-on experience with REST APIs, JSON, XML, and OAuth2 authentication.
Proficiency in Java, .NET, Python, or Node.js.
Experience with healthcare integration engines such as Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, or InterSystems.
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Understanding of healthcare workflows, EMR/EHR systems, and clinical data exchange.
Familiarity with SMART on FHIR applications is preferred.
Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases.
Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or related field.
FHIR or HL7 certification is preferred.
Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Knowledge of healthcare compliance and security standards.
Nice to Have
Experience with Azure Health Data Services or AWS HealthLake.
Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized deployments.
Knowledge of AI/ML applications in healthcare interoperability.
Experience working in payer, provider, or life sciences domains
