Information Security Engineer IV

Location: Virtual, Ohio (Remote)

Role Overview

This position supports the Enterprise Vulnerability Management Application Security team's day-to-day operations. The role has a primary focus on vulnerability intake, triage, and validation activities. The engineer will review and triage submissions to the organization's Vulnerability Disclosure Program and Bug Bounty Program, evaluate False Positive Review Requests from application teams, and support remediation efforts through centralized vulnerability management processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and triage vulnerability submissions from external researchers, validating technical accuracy, exploitability, and business impact.
• Assess severity and impact in alignment with established scoring models and program standards.
• Evaluate false positive requests from application teams, analyzing scanner findings and performing source code review as needed.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of triage standards, playbooks, and procedures.
• Ensure vulnerability handling aligns with internal policies, standards, and regulatory expectations.
• Maintain defensible documentation and provide supporting evidence for audit and internal review requirements.
• Communicate findings, impact, and remediation guidance to stakeholders and partner with application teams to enable timely remediation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of related experience in information security, application security, or vulnerability management.
• Strong understanding of application security principles, secure development practices, and common vulnerabilities.
• Experience with vulnerability triage, validation, and prioritization.
• Ability to communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to management, business sponsors, and technical resources.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools and outputs (e.g., SAST, SCA, DAST).
• Ability to review and understand source code to validate vulnerabilities.
• Experience with vulnerability management or tracking platforms.
• Previous experience working with distributed or offshore teams.
• Financial industry experience.
