Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to support our new Digital Assets program in the U.S., focused on stablecoin-based payments, custodial flows, and tokenized deposits. The role requires a hands-on architect with proven experience designing and implementing digital asset solutions within financial institutions, fintechs, or regulated payments environments. The architect will partner closely with business, product, technology, risk, compliance, and external providers to define scalable, secure, and compliant solution architectures for emerging digital asset use cases.

  • This role demands deep, hands-on experience in the digital assets space, specifically stablecoin-based payments, custodial flows, tokenized deposits, blockchain-enabled settlement, and regulated digital asset infrastructure.
  • The architect must work directly with U.S.-based business, technology, risk, compliance, and vendor stakeholders during onshore hours, including external providers such as Ripple, Stable core, custody platforms, payment networks, and tokenization solution providers.
  • Given the emerging and highly specialized nature of this domain, candidates with proven end-to-end implementation experience in financial institutions or fintech environments are extremely limited.
  • Initial hiring efforts through preferred vendors did not produce suitable profiles with practical, real-world implementation experience in stablecoins, tokenized deposits, or custodial digital asset flows.
  • A qualified candidate was ultimately identified through global AMA sourcing, where individuals with direct hands-on experience in this niche area were available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own end-to-end solution architecture for digital asset capabilities, including stablecoin payments, tokenized deposits, custodial flows, wallet integrations, ledger interactions, and settlement orchestration.
  • Translate business objectives and product requirements into scalable architecture designs, integration patterns, data flows, controls, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Partner with external providers and ecosystem participants such as Ripple, Stable core, custody platforms, blockchain infrastructure vendors, and payment partners to assess capabilities and define integration approaches.
  • Design secure and compliant architectures aligned to financial services requirements, including KYC, AML, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, auditability, operational resilience, and data protection.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture, cloud, cybersecurity, risk, compliance, legal, operations, and engineering teams to ensure solutions meet internal governance and regulatory expectations.
  • Evaluate blockchain networks, smart contract patterns, token lifecycle models, custody models, on-chain and off-chain reconciliation, and settlement mechanisms.
  • Support architecture reviews, vendor assessments, proof-of-concepts, technical due diligence, and implementation planning for digital asset use cases.
  • Provide technical leadership to delivery teams throughout design, build, testing, deployment, and production readiness activities.
  • Identify architectural risks, dependencies, technical debt, and control gaps; recommend mitigation strategies and practical implementation options.
  • Develop architecture artifacts, including solution blueprints, integration diagrams, sequence flows, API specifications, data models, security considerations, and non-functional requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in technology architecture, solution design, or enterprise architecture within banking, payments, fintech, capital markets, or digital asset environments.
  • Hands-on experience with digital asset solutions such as stablecoin payments, tokenized deposits, digital wallets, custody flows, token issuance, token redemption, blockchain settlement, or digital asset operations.
  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end implementations, pilots, or production-grade solutions involving regulated financial institutions, fintechs, or payment ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of distributed ledger technology, tokenization, smart contracts, wallet architecture, private keys, custody models, settlement flows, and on-chain/off-chain integration patterns.
  • Experience integrating with third-party platforms, vendor APIs, payment rails, core banking systems, ledger platforms, compliance systems, and transaction monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of U.S. financial services regulatory, risk, security, and compliance considerations related to digital assets, payments, custody, and deposit products.
  • Ability to work effectively during U.S. business hours with internal stakeholders and external providers.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex digital asset concepts to executive, business, risk, compliance, and engineering audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with digital asset providers, blockchain payment networks, tokenization platforms, or custody technology providers such as Ripple, Stablecore, Anchorage Digital, Fireblocks, Coinbase Institutional, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with bank-led tokenized deposit initiatives, stablecoin issuance models, reserve management flows, fiat on/off ramps, or cross-border payment use cases.
  • Familiarity with public and permissioned blockchain networks, including architecture trade-offs related to scalability, privacy, settlement finality, interoperability, and operational controls.
  • Experience with cloud-native architecture, API-first integration, event-driven architecture, microservices, DevSecOps, observability, and resilience engineering.
  • Experience supporting architecture governance, risk assessments, regulatory reviews, internal audit discussions, and production readiness reviews in a regulated environment.
