Software Engineer - Manufacturing Test Systems

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kfore's engineering technology client is seeking a Mid- to Senior-Level Software Engineer to join their growing team in Orem, TX. This is a direct search working closely with the hiring manager.

Summary:
In this role, you will design and maintain automated manufacturing test software used to validate hardware and firmware against strict quality standards. The work sits at the intersection of software, hardware, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities:
* Develop Python-based automated test systems for production configuration, calibration, and validation
* Build software that interfaces with sensors, actuators, and data acquisition equipment
* Create and maintain manufacturing dashboards and reporting (Grafana, Matplotlib)
* Maintain test infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
* Write and optimize SQL queries for test data storage and analysis
* Manage cloud storage for large manufacturing data sets
* Partner with operations, hardware, and software teams to ensure test coverage and manufacturability
* Troubleshoot failures and support root cause analysis and continuous improvement

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
* 4-8+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in manufacturing or production environments
* Strong Python expertise
* Experience with automated test frameworks
* Proficiency in Linux environments, including services, device interfacing, and shell scripting
* Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
* Ability to debug issues across software, hardware, and networking

* Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and reliability
* Confident supporting production environments where test automation impacts product quality

Preferred Skills:
* Manufacturing or production test experience
* Sensor-based or instrumentation-heavy systems
* IaC, Docker/Kubernetes, and AWS or Azure exposure
* Strong analytical background (vector math, Fourier transforms)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
