Job Title: Entry-Level Data Center Technician

Type: 6-Month Contract with Possible Extension

Overview

TEKsystems Inc. is seeking motivated and detail-oriented candidates interested in starting their career as Entry-Level Data Center Technicians in the Greater Nashville Area. This 6-month contract role offers the potential for extension or permanent hire, along with comprehensive health benefits and retirement options.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on technical work, learning new skills, and supporting critical IT infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
Assist with the installation, maintenance, and basic repair of data center hardware and equipment.
Support routine inspections of racks, cabling, and devices to ensure proper operation.
Help troubleshoot common connectivity and hardware issues under team guidance.
Perform basic configuration tasks for equipment and maintain neat cabling standards.
Collaborate closely with team members to support stable data center operations.
Provide basic technical assistance to internal users or teams as needed.
Maintain accurate documentation for inventory, equipment status, and service activity.
Follow all safety guidelines and industry best practices in the data center.
Stay open to learning new technologies, tools, and procedures.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications are a plus).
Interest or foundational experience in IT, networking, cabling, or related fields.
Basic understanding of hardware components, cabling, routers, or switches.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving desire and willingness to learn.
Good communication skills and the ability to work with a team.
Reliable, organized, and able to follow directions and procedures.
Willingness to adapt to new technologies and changing operational needs.
Familiarity with VoIP, PBX systems, and network protocols.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Gallatin, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
