Job Title: Principal Systems Engineer (Cloud)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Systems Engineer (Cloud) to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure. This role involves technical leadership, architecture decision-making, and mentoring engineering teams while driving cloud strategy and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect cloud-based solutions across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Lead cloud infrastructure strategy, including scalability, reliability, and cost optimization
• Drive automation using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning
• Collaborate with DevOps, security, and application teams to align cloud solutions
• Define and enforce cloud governance, security standards, and compliance requirements
• Optimize system performance, monitoring, and incident response processes
• Mentor and guide engineers; act as a technical escalation point
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 10-15 years of experience in systems engineering or cloud engineering
• Strong expertise in at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or similar)
• Deep understanding of networking, security, and distributed systems
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect Expert)
• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
• Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (ISO, SOC 2, etc.)
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
