Role Overview
An experienced Software Engineer 4 is sought to support the development, administration, and ongoing maintenance of an enterprise ServiceNow platform. This role is responsible for technical debt remediation, ServiceNow engineering and development, platform administration, and Level 3 production support. The ideal candidate will possess ServiceNow development expertise and an understanding of platform architecture and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow solutions using JavaScript and platform development best practices.
- Support technical debt remediation efforts to improve platform maintainability, performance, and scalability.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to development standards and security requirements.
- Manage ServiceNow users, groups, roles, permissions, and basic platform configurations.
- Provide Level 3 production support for platform issues and incidents.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform defects, configuration issues, and integration failures.
- Configure and maintain tables, forms, lists, fields, dictionary entries, and user permissions.
- Work within Agile delivery teams and manage development activities through Jira.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of ServiceNow platform development and administration experience.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow JavaScript development and scripting.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow platform configuration and administration.
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with external applications using REST APIs.
- Experience managing users, groups, roles, and access controls within ServiceNow.
- Experience performing ServiceNow code reviews and enforcing development best practices.
- Experience working in Agile environments and managing work through Jira.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing ServiceNow cloning activities and instance upgrades.
- Experience with MID Server installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Experience developing and maintaining ServiceNow reporting and dashboards.
- Experience building and supporting Service Catalog items and request forms.
- Familiarity with platform performance optimization and governance practices.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise ServiceNow environments.
