Title: Desktop Support
Location: Mostly Remote (Monthly Onsite in Madison, WI when needed)
Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of Extension)
Work Arrangement: Candidate must be a current resident of the state. No relocation allowed. This role is primarily remote but may require occasional onsite visits for implementations, meetings, and other business needs.
Job Description
The primary responsibilities include supporting, testing, maintaining, and installing workstation hardware, software, operating systems, application certification, and software deployment/update methods. The selected candidate will collaborate with a team of desktop support technicians and a project manager to provide Tier 2/3 desktop support, resolve incidents and service requests, and assist with hardware and software implementation projects. The environment supports over 10,000 endpoints and users.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of Tier 3 workstation hardware and software support.
- 5+ years supporting and maintaining Windows operating systems for end-user workstations.
- 2–5+ years supporting and maintaining peripheral devices such as printers and scanners.
- 5+ years of Incident and Service Request Management.
- 2–5+ years providing technical support for desktop-related projects.
- 5+ years of strong written and verbal customer support communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Software packaging for mass deployment using SCCM, Ivanti, or similar tools.
- Patch Management.
- System imaging using SCCM, Ivanti, or similar deployment tools.
- Learning Management System (LMS) support.
- Google Workspace administration and support.
- Microsoft Group Policy Object (GPO) administration.
