Job Description

We are looking for a Community Recruitment Specialist in the Seattle/Redmond, WA area to support recruitment and engagement for paid AI research studies.

This is not a traditional HR or corporate recruiting position. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with external marketing, community outreach, social media engagement, participant recruitment, events, networking, referrals, membership growth, or similar activities focused on reaching and engaging people.

The role is particularly suited for someone who is comfortable working behind the scenes through social media, online communities, digital outreach, messaging platforms, referrals, and relationship-building, rather than needing to be highly public-facing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute participant recruitment and external outreach strategies.
• Conduct outreach through social media, online communities, referrals, local networks, and community channels.
• Build relationships with local organizations, schools, businesses, cultural groups, and community networks.
• Post research opportunities through LinkedIn, Facebook groups, Indeed, Craigslist, and other relevant channels.
• Identify new and creative channels to reach specialized participant populations.
• Engage potential participants and explain available research opportunities.
• Guide interested participants through the registration process.
• Build and maintain participant pipelines.
• Track outreach activity, recruitment progress, and results.
• Adapt outreach strategies according to project requirements and target audiences.
• Collaborate with recruiting, scheduling, and project teams.
• Travel locally within the assigned market when required.

Required Qualifications

• Based in Seattle/Redmond, WA or surrounding area.
• Relevant overall professional experience in external marketing, community outreach, participant recruitment, sales, events, social media, customer engagement, membership growth, brand ambassador programs, or similar fields.
• Demonstrated real external marketing/outreach experience.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience using social media and digital channels for outreach.
• Comfortable building relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Creative, proactive, resourceful, and self-directed.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Comfortable working independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Outlook and Excel.
• Ability to travel locally for outreach activities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Participant recruitment experience.
• Community organizing or community engagement experience.
• AI data collection or research-study recruitment experience.
• Experience creating outreach campaigns from scratch.
• Experience recruiting through Facebook groups, LinkedIn, Craigslist, Indeed, community groups, or similar platforms.
• Experience working with multicultural communities.
• Experience developing referral networks and community partnerships.
• Multilingual skills are a plus.
