Job Description: Summary:
The main function of a Network Analyst is to determine user requirements and design specifications for computer networks. A typical network engineer is responsible for planning and implementing network upgrades.
Job Responsibilities:
Planning, design, and installation of routers, switches, or other network components
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the following: spanning tree, routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), VLAN technologies, WAN protocols.
Conduct network troubleshooting using network protocol analysis tools such as Wireshark.
Possess good working knowledge and experience in planning, design, installation, and support of LAN (Ethernet, Gig-Ethernet).
Possess good working knowledge and experience in Industrial Control Systems (ICS) protocols such as: CONITEL, DNP, Modbus and 68150.
Possess good working knowledge of cybersecurity.
Possess good NERC-CIP knowledge and SME (Subject Matter Expert) during audits.
Conduct knowledge transfer activities with peers or other support groups.
Responsible for vendor comparisons as needed.
Maintain network drawings.
Provide testing for new network hardware and software solutions.
Accountable for adhering to Change Management process for network related incidents.
Participates in process improvement initiatives.
Serve as member of technical team on selected large-scale substation networking projects.
Provides support, testing, troubleshooting for all business applications.
Utilize intelligent network management tools to isolate problems or improve network performance
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required 2-4 years experience required Network/systems administration/related work experience required Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification a plus Knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop
