Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator to lead enterprise-level database initiatives across complex environments. This role focuses on advanced database architecture, large-scale modernization efforts, and cloud transformation strategies.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Oracle Exadata, Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS), and database upgrades (11g to 19c), along with a strong background in performance tuning, high availability, and hybrid cloud solutions.
This is a senior-level position requiring hands-on leadership, technical depth, and the ability to drive mission-critical database transformations.
Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Technical Leadership- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance Oracle database environments
- Define best practices, standards, and governance models for database platforms
- Act as a senior advisor on database architecture and long-term technology strategy

Database Modernization & Upgrades- Drive end-to-end Oracle database upgrades from 11g to 19c
- Plan and execute database consolidation and modernization initiatives
- Ensure high availability and minimal downtime during upgrades and migrations

Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure- Lead migration of Oracle workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Design and implement hybrid architectures combining on-prem and cloud systems
- Develop automation scripts and migration strategies for scalable cloud adoption

Exadata & EBS Administration- Manage and optimize Oracle Exadata environments, including storage and compute layers
- Support and maintain Oracle E-Business Suite (R12) database systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across RAC, ASM, and EBS environments

Performance Optimization- Perform advanced performance tuning using AWR, ASH, ADDM
- Optimize SQL queries, PL/SQL code, and database workloads
- Identify and resolve system bottlenecks across infrastructure layers

High Availability & Disaster Recovery- Design and maintain HA/DR solutions using Data Guard / Active Data Guard
- Ensure compliance with security, auditing, and regulatory standards
- Lead incident resolution for critical production issues

Automation & DevOps- Develop automation solutions using Shell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines for database deployment and maintenance
- Promote operational efficiency through automation and monitoring

Collaboration & Mentorship- Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical guidance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application, infrastructure, and cloud teams
- Communicate technical solutions clearly to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- 20+ years of Oracle DBA experience in enterprise environments
- Strong experience with Oracle database upgrades (11g to 19c)
- Deep expertise in Oracle Exadata
- Experience supporting Oracle E-Business Suite (R12)
- Advanced knowledge of RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and OEM
- Strong skills in SQL, PL/SQL, and Linux administration
- Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud or hybrid database environments
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible
- Exposure to WebLogic or SOA Suite
- Oracle certifications (OCP, OCM, or cloud certifications)
