Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Technology Project Manager for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC, Irving, TX, Chandler, AZ or Minneapolis, MN. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. We are seeking an experienced Senior Technology Project Manager to lead a large-scale enterprise data platform modernization initiative focused on the retirement of a legacy Hadoop ecosystem and migration of applications, data assets, and platform services to strategic target-state platforms. This role will be responsible for driving end-to-end execution of a multi-year transformation program involving application migrations, infrastructure decommissioning, cloud adoption, risk remediation, stakeholder management, financial governance, and operational readiness activities. The successful candidate will partner with technology leaders, architects, product owners, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity, operations, and business stakeholders to ensure the successful retirement of legacy platforms while minimizing business disruption.
Responsibilities: - Lead a complex, cross-functional technology modernization program involving retirement of enterprise Hadoop platforms and supporting infrastructure
- Establish and manage program governance, reporting, executive communications, and steering committee reviews
- Develop and maintain integrated roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, risk registers, financial tracking, and delivery plans
- Drive accountability across multiple technology teams and business partners
- Oversee discovery, assessment, prioritization, and migration of applications, tenants, and data workloads from legacy Hadoop environments
- Coordinate migration activities across cloud platforms, data platforms, middleware services, security teams, infrastructure providers, and application teams
- Manage application retirement, tenant offboarding, data archival, infrastructure shutdown, and decommissioning activities
- Build strong relationships with senior technology leaders and business stakeholders
- Provide concise executive-level updates on delivery status, risks, financial impacts, and business outcomes
- Lead remediation efforts related to platform vulnerabilities, EOS/EOL technologies, audit findings, and regulatory commitments
- Manage budget oversight and forecast delivery against committed business case objectives
- Coordinate production readiness reviews, business continuity testing, support transitions, and operational acceptance
Requirements: - 10+ years of project, program, or portfolio management experience within large-scale technology organizations
- Proven experience leading complex infrastructure transformation, data platform modernization, cloud migration, or data center exit initiatives
- Strong understanding of enterprise data platforms, distributed computing technologies, and cloud transformation programs
- Experience managing multimillion-dollar programs with multiple workstreams, vendors, and executive stakeholders
- Demonstrated expertise in risk management, financial governance, executive reporting, and dependency management
- Experience using Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Desired skills: - Experience with Hadoop ecosystems including Hortonworks, Cloudera, MapR, Hive, Spark, Oozie, HDFS, or related technologies
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), Azure, AWS, or private cloud platforms
- Familiarity with enterprise data engineering, ETL modernization, data governance, and analytics platforms
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure decommissioning and application retirement programs
- PMP, PgMP, Agile, SAFe, or equivalent certification
Pay range: $51.09 - $59.09 per hour
