Description: Job DescriptionWe are seeking
Senior, Experienced Manufacturing Engineers to support advanced manufacturing operations within a high-complexity production environment.
About the OrganizationOur organization is a leader in aerospace and advanced manufacturing, delivering mission-critical systems and assemblies for high-reliability platforms. We are committed to safety, quality, sustainability, and technical excellence across all manufacturing operations.
Position OverviewThis is a
senior-level (Level 5) Manufacturing Engineer role focused on providing technical leadership across multiple manufacturing programs and production lines. The position emphasizes
enterprise-level manufacturing strategy, process architecture, and organizational influence, rather than ownership of a single subsystem.
The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost, improve quality, and enable scalable production of complex products.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for manufacturing process development, qualification, and sustainment across multiple programs and production lines.
- Define and implement manufacturing strategies (automation, lean principles, DFMA, digital thread) to improve throughput, reduce cost, and enhance quality and reliability.
- Lead production readiness planning, including risk identification, mitigation strategies, and readiness metric definition for program ramps and sustainment.
- Architect and drive investments in tooling, workstations, automation, and capital equipment; develop and justify business cases for manufacturing improvements.
- Establish and maintain standardized processes, best practices, and controls across production lines; champion scalable and repeatable manufacturing solutions.
- Lead complex problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Integrate manufacturing considerations early into product and process decisions; represent manufacturing in design and program reviews.
- Mentor and develop engineering teams; provide technical oversight and review/approve engineering deliverables, installation plans, and process documentation.
- Utilize data analytics, simulation, and model-based approaches to validate processes, balance flow, and support capacity planning.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (design, quality, supply chain, production, industrial engineering) and external partners to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
Work Environment- This position is 100% onsite.
- Openings are available on 1st and 2nd shift. Candidates must be flexible to work either shift; assignment will be determined at the time of offer.
Basic Qualifications (Required)- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited institution in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 12+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree OR an equivalent combination of professional experience and technical education.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.
- 15+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.
- Strong experience in process qualification, lean manufacturing, automation/robotics, and digital manufacturing tools.
- Demonstrated project and program leadership, including schedule, budget, and stakeholder management.
- Experience with manufacturing engineering and factory tools such as CREO, CATIA, MES, DELMIA, FlexSim, ProModel, or equivalent systems.
- Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and model-based enterprise practices (MBD/MBE).
- Experience supporting supplier integration, qualification, and production transfers.
- Proven track record of mentoring engineers and reviewing/approving engineering work products.
- Certifications or formal training in Lean, Six Sigma, Systems Engineering, or Project Management (e.g., PMP, Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt) are a plus.
Education / ExperienceEducation and experience are typically obtained through advanced technical education from an accredited institution (e.g., Bachelor's degree) and approximately
14 or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Non-US equivalent qualifications are acceptable. ABET accreditation is preferred when applicable but not required.
