Key Responsibilities
Fleet-Wide Technical Leadership
Serve as the technical lead for Oracle Symphony Cloud POS deployments
Provide architectural guidance and hands-on oversight throughout design, build, testing, and rollout phases
Ensure consistency, scalability, and operational readiness across multiple ships
Business & Requirements Partnership
Collaborate with shoreside business teams, shipboard operations, and IT to gather, refine, and document functional and technical requirements
Translate operational needs into clear technical solutions and implementation guidance
Advise stakeholders on Oracle Symphony capabilities, tradeoffs, and optimization opportunities
Oracle Vendor Oversight & Service Improvement
Act as primary technical liaison to Oracle delivery teams
Review Oracle s solution designs, configurations, and deployment plans
Identify gaps, risks, and service delivery issues; drive corrective actions and continuous improvement
Facilitate design reviews, working sessions, and escalation management
Solution Design & Integration
Design and validate POS solutions tailored to shipboard environments, including offline resiliency and performance considerations
Support integrations with downstream systems such as finance, inventory, reporting, and loyalty platforms
Ensure security, compliance, and data integrity standards are met
Testing, Deployment & Readiness
Guide system testing, UAT, and production readiness across fleet deployments
Support cutover planning and risk mitigation to minimize operational disruption onboard
Ensure proper documentation and deployment standards are followed
Knowledge Transfer & Team Collaboration
Partner with internal system analysts and technical staff, providing mentorship and knowledge transfer
Develop and maintain implementation documentation, standards, and best practices
Required Qualifications
Hands-on experience leading Oracle Symphony Cloud deployments
Strong background with Oracle MICROS POS systems
Experience acting as a Technical Lead, Systems Analyst, or Solutions Architect in enterprise POS environments
Proven ability to work directly with business stakeholders to define and deliver requirements
Experience partnering with vendors and holding them accountable for service delivery
Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
Cruise, maritime, or hospitality industry experience
Experience supporting fleet-wide or multi-location rollouts
Familiarity with shipboard technology constraints (bandwidth, latency, offline operations)
Experience improving or recovering vendor-led implementations
Cloud architecture, systems integration, or enterprise application experienceOverview
undertaking a fleet-wide upgrade of its onboard POS systems, transitioning from Oracle MICROS to Oracle Symphony Cloud. While Oracle is currently leading the deployment, is seeking a senior technical lead to provide white-glove oversight, partner closely with business and shipboard stakeholders, and work alongside Oracle to improve delivery quality, consistency, and outcomes across the fleet.
This role will serve as the bridge between business, IT, shipboard operations, and Oracle, ensuring requirements are clearly defined, solutions are fit for purpose, and deployments are executed to a high standard in a complex cruise environment.
