Job#: 3033612 Job Description: Zscaler / Zero Trust Engineer (Operations-Focused) - RemoteWe're looking for a hands-on Zscaler Engineer to support and maintain a large-scale enterprise environment where Zscaler is deployed across the organization. This role is heavily focused on
day-to-day operations, stability, and disciplined change management within a production environment.
What You'll Be Doing- Own day-to-day operations of the Zscaler environment (ZIA, ZPA, app connectors, segmentation, policy management)
- Act as the go-to resource for Zero Trust and Zscaler across the organization
- Manage and implement changes in a structured, controlled way following proper change management processes
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting user access, network flow, and application connectivity
- Maintain and optimize Zero Trust policies as the environment continues to mature
- Support hybrid environments, including newly acquired entities and areas with legacy constraints
- Partner with architecture leadership for design updates, while primarily executing and maintaining solutions
- Ensure proper documentation, ticketing, and traceability for all work performed
Environment- Enterprise-wide Zscaler deployment across most locations, with some hybrid/legacy gaps
- Zero Trust initiative in early-to-mid maturity (in place but still evolving)
- Integrated with Okta for SSO/IAM
- Supporting technologies include Fortinet and Microsoft infrastructure stacks
- High-impact environment (manufacturing + business operations directly affected by outages)
What We're Looking For (Must-Haves)- Strong hands-on experience supporting Zscaler in production environments
- ZIA, ZPA, policy management, segmentation, app connectors
- Experience working in Zero Trust environments (even if still maturing)
- Solid networking fundamentals:
- TCP/IP, DNS, traffic flow, basic handshake protocols
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in live, production environments
- Experience operating within structured change management processes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to document changes clearly
Nice to Have- Experience supporting hybrid environments (cloud + legacy systems)
- Exposure to identity platforms (Okta, Azure AD, etc.)
- Background in network/security environments leveraging Fortinet or similar stacks
- Experience supporting manufacturing or high-availability environments
How This Role is Structured- ~90% operations / support, ~10% architecture collaboration
- Works closely with senior architecture resources but does not lead design
- Focused on ongoing maintenance, issue resolution, and controlled improvements
