Technical Product Manager (Junior Level)
Location: Onsite – San Francisco, CA
Contract: 6-Month W2 Contract
Pay Rate: $48–$54/hour (DOE)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Overview
We are supporting a leading utility and infrastructure organization in the search for a Junior Technical Product Manager to support Finance and Accounting product initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career product manager to gain hands-on experience working on internal financial tools and reporting solutions that support critical accounting and finance operations.
In this role, you will partner closely with a Group Product Manager and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into clear product epics, user stories, and backlog priorities. The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail-oriented, and eager to deepen their exposure to core accounting functions and internal enterprise products.
What You’ll Do
- Support the Group Product Manager in organizing and driving quarterly roadmaps for finance and accounting tools
- Translate business goals into detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Own and help prioritize the product backlog and deliver user stories to engineering teams
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Finance, Accounting, and Customer Relations teams to build, launch, and iterate on internal products
- Track product performance against quarterly OKRs and support product launch plans
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
What You Bring
- 1+ years of experience in a Product Manager, Associate Product Manager, or similar role
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform product decisions
- Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Foundational understanding of product lifecycle concepts and backlog management
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to e-commerce accounting or billing systems such as NetSuite
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting tools
- Interest in finance, accounting systems, and internal enterprise platforms
