Pharmacy Engineering Technician III

Schedule: Monday-Thursday | 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM
Position Summary

The Pharmacy Engineering Technician III is responsible for overseeing the logistics, fabrication, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electromechanical equipment used in prescription drug distribution. This role performs advanced operational, administrative, and customer support duties requiring independent initiative, sound judgment, and intermediate mathematical skills. The technician works with limited supervision and leverages deep technical and organizational knowledge to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Routinely inspect automated equipment, including electro-pneumatic and control systems.
  • Install and support new equipment, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, and computer systems.
  • Monitor equipment condition and report status to the Maintenance Supervisor as needed.
  • Reduce machine downtime and improve equipment throughput, reliability, and overall performance.
  • Maintain accurate preventive maintenance schedules and documentation, including repairs, parts used, issues identified, and recommendations.
  • Lead and perform testing of equipment and related software to ensure proper operation and defect-free performance.
  • Evaluate mechanical systems for cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Recommend and implement design modifications to eliminate malfunctions, reduce cost-to-fill, increase throughput, and improve quality.
  • Develop and implement improvements to existing procedures and model future system configurations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency when troubleshooting and repairing equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Work independently and consistently deliver high-quality project and assignment completion.
Qualifications
  • 4-5 years of hands-on electrical and mechanical experience.
  • Knowledge of POS programming.
  • Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and prioritization skills.
