Sr. OT Network Engineer

Job Description:

Apex Systems has an immediate need for a Sr. OT Network Engineer.

This person will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure within the operational technology environment, including:

• Verifying firewall configurations,
• Conducting site discovery,
• Creating the low level site wide network diagrams,
• Creating firewall ACL lists, and
• Evaluating network equipment to ensure proper monitoring and logging.

Ideal candidates will have the following:

• Extensive experience in network engineering: 5+ years of experience in network design and implementation
• Understanding of OT systems and environments.
• Experience troubleshooting network infrastructure in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with asset Inventory and network monitoring applications: Familiarity with network discovery and monitoring tools.
• Ability to assess network equipment for performance and warranty status.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Ability to identify and resolve network issues effectively.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work well with others.
• Educational background in relevant technical field - Associates or Bachelor's Degree
• Willingness to travel 30%

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure firewall configurations meet organizational standards and security requirements.
• Perform thorough site discovery to gather network information using Asset Inventory tools and switch commands.
• Create firewall Access Control Lists and present them for approval.
• Evaluate network equipment for port capacity, speed, and warranty status.
• Implement and resolve issues with Access Control Lists in Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Obtain quotes for replacing network equipment as necessary.
• Integrate network devices into monitoring systems for ongoing oversight.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure successful network operations.

Skills Required:

• Expertise in designing and implementing network infrastructure.
• Strong understanding & knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
