A Business Analyst II (BA II) is a mid-level professional responsible for analyzing business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, and supporting the delivery of business and technology solutions. This role typically works with moderate independence, manages stakeholder relationships, and may lead smaller projects or initiatives


Key Responsibilities


Requirements Gathering & Analysis


Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into clear requirements


Document business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories


Data Analysis & Insights


Analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement


Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support decision-making


Process Improvement


Evaluate business processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend solutions


Support continuous improvement initiatives across teams


Project Support / Ownership


Lead or support mid-sized projects and initiatives


Assist with project planning, tracking, and delivery coordination


Stakeholder Management


Communicate with business and technical teams to validate requirements


Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations


Testing & Validation


Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT)


Ensure solutions meet acceptance criteria and business goals


Documentation & Reporting


Maintain accurate documentation of processes, systems, and requirements


Track project metrics and report on performance and outcomes

qualifications:

Required Skills & Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or related field


Typically 3-5 years of experience in business analysis or related roles


Strong skills in:


Data analysis and problem-solving


Communication and stakeholder engagement


Business process modeling and documentation


Familiarity with tools such as:


Excel, SQL, Power BI/Tableau


Jira, Confluence (or similar tools)

Level Expectations (BA II vs BA I)
