We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to support ongoing feature delivery for a Property and Casualty-focused product team in Cleveland, OH. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in Agile software environments and can translate business needs into clear, actionable work for cross-functional teams. The role requires a strong blend of product leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and analytical thinking to help guide custom software enhancements within the insurance domain.
Responsibilities:
Lead product ownership activities for New Property and Casualty team, ensuring feature priorities align with business goals and user needs.
Gather and refine requirements through stakeholder discussions, discovery sessions, and direct user engagement.
Create and maintain clear documentation, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting product artifacts for development teams.
Manage and prioritize the product backlog in Jira, coordinating closely with Agile team members to support sprint planning and execution.
Partner with underwriting and business teams to clarify workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and support informed product decisions.
Track tasks, dependencies, and delivery progress across multiple workstreams while helping teams stay focused on high-value outcomes.
Collaborate with technical and functional partners across departments to resolve questions, reduce ambiguity, and keep development moving efficiently.
Adapt priorities as business demands evolve, using sound judgment and problem-solving skills to balance speed, detail, and quality.
Requirements
7+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role supporting software product delivery.
Experience utilizing AI for business efficiencies within the business
Experience in insurance industry
Familiarity with PNC and underwriting processes
Hands-on experience working in Agile Scrum environments with responsibility for backlog management and user story development.
Prior experience supporting custom software products within the insurance industry, preferably in Property and Casualty.
Familiarity with underwriting processes and the ability to translate business concepts into structured product requirements.
Proficiency with Atlassian Jira and comfort using collaboration and tracking tools in fast-paced delivery environments.
Strong communication skills with the ability to conduct user interviews, gather feedback, and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to stay organized under pressure, shift priorities when needed, and approach challenges with strong attention to detail.
Exposure to tools or environments involving cloud platforms, CRM, ERP, change management, or related enterprise systems is a plus.
