Description:

Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Fargo, ND
Duration: 36 months with possible extension


Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the manufacturing representative on cross-functional customer teams, supporting BOM updates and releases, processing Engineering and Manufacturing Change Orders (ECO/MCO), and training production operators.
  • Develop and maintain routings, work methods, layouts, tooling, cost estimates, quality plans, and labor standards for new and existing parts or moderately complex programs.
  • Support day-to-day manufacturing operations by troubleshooting issues, analyzing data, and implementing improvements related to material flow, capacity, and productivity.
  • Identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity for small to mid-sized projects, leveraging a variety of electronic tools.


Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including line and process design, line balancing, material presentation systems (Kanban), visual management (5S), and/or tooling design.
  • Understanding of ergonomics and safe manufacturing practices.
  • Familiarity with World Class Quality methodologies such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, DFM/DFA, FMEA, and mistake-proofing techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).


Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Knowledge of Change Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a minimum of four (4) years of relevant manufacturing experience.
