Structural Engineer III

Nuclear Power Plant Modifications
Position Overview

We are seeking a Structural Engineer III with 5-10 years of experience supporting nuclear power plant modification and capital improvement projects. This role will support extended power uprate-related engineering efforts and will serve as a Responsible Design Engineer (RDE), performing Owner Acceptance Reviews and ensuring design quality, compliance, and technical rigor.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support nuclear power plant modification and capital improvement projects
  • Perform Owner Acceptance Reviews for structural engineering designs and deliverables
  • Serve as the Responsible Design Engineer (RDE) for assigned scopes of work
  • Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, and design documentation
  • Ensure compliance with applicable nuclear, regulatory, and industry engineering standards
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders
  • Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, from design through implementation
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Civil or Structural Engineering (required)
  • 5-10 years of structural engineering experience in a nuclear power plant environment
  • Experience supporting nuclear plant modifications or capital projects
  • Proven experience performing Owner Acceptance Reviews
  • Demonstrated ability to fulfill Responsible Design Engineer duties
  • Strong technical documentation, review, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Extended Power Uprate (EPU) initiatives
  • Familiarity with nuclear quality assurance, design control, and configuration management processes
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments
Work Environment
  • Engineering/project-based role within a regulated nuclear utility environment
  • Collaboration with cross-functional technical and project teams
