About the RoleWe are seeking an entry-level engineer to support the design, construction, and maintenance of power-related systems within our generation and industrial facilities. This role is ideal for early-career engineers who want to develop strong technical foundations while contributing to safe, reliable, and efficient power system operations.
You will work closely with senior engineers, construction teams, maintenance personnel, and external contractors to support project development from concept through execution. This position offers hands-on exposure to engineering design processes, field walkdowns, and the application of industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Apply engineering principles, design criteria, and software tools to develop power system designs.
- Support the preparation of project estimates, design options, and construction specifications.
- Conduct field walkdowns and review mechanical/electrical drawings for accuracy and constructability.
- Assist in the development of construction packages and transmit final documentation to project teams.
- Provide oversight and quality assurance for contractors developing design solutions and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with internal departments involved in planning, design, construction, and maintenance.
- Support construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations and troubleshooting.
- Estimate materials and equipment required for assigned projects.
- Ensure all work prioritizes safety and adheres to company and industry standards.
- Utilize CAD and other engineering software to support design and documentation.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of design standards and engineering criteria.
Required Skills & Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred; Mechanical or related disciplines considered).
- Introductory engineering knowledge and basic problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make decisions within defined procedures and escalate issues appropriately.
- Familiarity with CAD software and engineering design tools.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with plant personnel, engineering teams, and vendors.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience- Experience in power generation, heavy industrial environments, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience walking down and marking up mechanical or electrical drawings.
- Prior exposure to utility or industrial design standards.
