Role Overview
This role is centered on the development and maintenance of a critical Windows-based ecosystem used by technicians to communicate with vehicle Electronic Control Units (ECUs). The position involves programming the interface between Windows-based software and vehicle diagnostic hardware, ensuring reliable data transfer and device recognition for a leading automotive company. This is a long-term contract position located in Franklin, TN.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and coding of rich Windows applications (WPF/WinForms).
- Program and optimize the interface between Windows-based software and vehicle diagnostic hardware.
- Manage the creation of MSI installers for software updates across numerous dealership machines.
- Resolve technical issues related to Windows OS stability, driver conflicts, and device connectivity.
- Maintain back-end SQL databases and SSIS packages for service manuals, recalls, and technical data.
- Collaborate with the Service Department and IT teams to align software with new vehicle technology.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills:- .NET, C#, and ASP.NET development
- Windows system administration and experience with tablet interfaces
- Windows Device & Desktop Programming: Advanced WPF (XAML) and WinForms
- Web & Backend Development: ASP.NET MVC, Web API, Entity Framework, LINQ
- Frontend Development: Angular or React, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Bootstrap
- Database & Integration: Strong T-SQL, SSIS (DTSX), and SSRS
Preferred Qualifications
- MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer) certification.
- Some experience with SharePoint application management.
- Experience with vehicle communication protocols or diagnostic hardware.
Compensation & Benefits
The estimated pay rate for this position is between $45.00 and $53.00 per hour. The final rate will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications. Benefits are available to eligible employees.
