Data Center Audit Technician

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Audit Technician to support network validation, auditing, and troubleshooting efforts. This role is critical for ensuring the accuracy of network documentation, circuit mapping, and overall operational readiness across infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret Engineering Design Packages (EDPs)
• Support network audits, including infrastructure verification and validation
• Create and maintain accurate circuit maps and network diagrams
• Assist with troubleshooting connectivity and configuration issues (Layer 1-3)
• Validate network inventory, connectivity, and documentation accuracy
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve discrepancies
• Document findings and deliver clear audit reports with actionable recommendations

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong ability to read and interpret EDPs and technical documentation
• Solid understanding of telecom and network infrastructure concepts
• Experience with circuit mapping and topology visualization
• Hands-on network troubleshooting experience (Layer 1-3)
• Ability to interpret diagrams, schematics, and engineering layouts
• High attention to detail with strong documentation skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within telecom, ISP, or enterprise network environments
• Familiarity with fiber and copper infrastructure
• Exposure to network auditing tools or GIS systems
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or CCNA

What Success Looks Like

• Accurate and complete network audit deliverables
• Clear, up-to-date circuit maps and documentation
• Timely identification and resolution of network discrepancies
• Strong collaboration with internal technical teams

Project & Travel Details

• Initial assignment located in Columbus, OH (New Albany area) for approximately 5-6 months (subject to change)
• Travel technicians will be provided lodging near project sites:
  • Airbnb (shared housing, typically 3-4 technicians)
  • Extended-stay hotels (single occupancy)
• Travel arranged by IES (flight or rental vehicle provided)
• Option to return home once per month

Relocation Opportunity

• Potential to convert to a full-time role
• Relocation assistance up to $10,000 available upon conversion

Schedule

• Standard: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Rotating on-call responsibilities
• During site turn-ups: 10-hour shifts, up to 6 days per week

This is a Contract position based out of New Albany, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
