Overview & Responsibilities
The Senior Business Project Manager (BPM) will lead the high-stakes business delivery of a multi-Operating Company (OpCo) upgrade of the Meter Data Management (MDM) system. This is an enterprise-wide leadership role, not a participatory one, requiring a track record of owning delivery outcomes in complex, high-pressure environments. The BPM acts as the strategic bridge between IT, external vendor partners (Accenture and Oracle), and executive stakeholders at three operating companies. The successful candidate must navigate different regional regulatory bodies (ICC/PUC/PSC) while ensuring seamless integration with Oracle CC&B and other critical edge systems. You will
Drive business readiness and process alignment across multiple utilities simultaneously, ensuring enterprise standards are met while respecting OpCo-specific business objectives.
Define and document objectives for sustained billing accuracy and regulatory compliance, ensuring all technical upgrades translate into measurable business value.
Lead and manage large, cross-functional teams including IT, Business Operations, Finance, and Audit to validate business case assumptions and track realized benefits.
Interpret complex MDM architecture, AMI head-end integrations, and interval data processing to articulate impacts on customer billing and field operations in executive-ready language.
Identify and mitigate risks related to data integrity and billing disruptions that could lead to significant regulatory scrutiny or public-facing customer impacts.
Oversee critical deployment phases, including multiple dress rehearsals (3 4) and the transition to post-implementation stabilization/hypercare.
Required Experience & Skills
8+ years of experience in Senior Project/Program Management within a regulated industry, ideally Utilities.
Demonstrated leadership of large-scale, enterprise-wide programs (multi-million customer impact) rather than just project participation.
Deep functional knowledge of Oracle CC&B, MDM, and AMI ecosystems.
Experience operating across different regions with varying oversight structures and audit expectations.
