Process Engineer | Jenison, MI

Salary Range: $75,000 - $109,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Jenison seeking Process Engineers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process deviations and product non-conformities.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other data analysis techniques to monitor process performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, production, quality) to ensure successful new product introductions and process transfers.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment, and materials to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Ensure all processes comply with safety, environmental, and quality regulations and standards.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes using tools like Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of process control systems, instrumentation, and data acquisition.
  • Experience with Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot process issues and implement effective corrective actions.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic).
  • Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience implementing automation solutions (e.g., robotics, AGVs).
