Job Title: Data Analyst - Access Governance & Role Mapping
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid - 3x/week onsite, 5x/week during training)
Contract Length: 9 months (project-based, hard stop)
Rate: $33-38/hr
Interview Process: 1 round virtual interview (30 min)
Must-Haves:Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, formulas, pivot tables - no beginners)Strong experience working with large datasetsAnalytical mindset with high attention to detailAble to follow direction while also speaking up with data-driven insightsStrong communication skills (summarizing findings clearly)Plusses:Access management, entitlements, or role-based accessFinancial services / large enterprise experienceGovernance, audit, or controls exposureExperience using AI tools to assist with data analysisJob Summary:This role supports a large-scale enterprise initiative focused on standardizing and optimizing system access across Wholesale Operations (10,000+ employees). The team is building consistent role-based access models across business lines ahead of a broader system transformation. The analyst will work with large, messy datasets of access and entitlement data, identify inconsistencies, and make recommendations to align access with standardized role-based models. This is a very Excel-heavy, data-driven role requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and comfort working through high volumes of structured data.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:- Analyze large datasets of system access and entitlements
- Compare and validate role-based access matrices
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and unnecessary access
- Make recommendations to standardize and streamline access
- Support development of role-based access frameworks
- Prepare concise status updates and leadership summaries (PowerPoint)
- Partner with internal teams to validate findings
