Position: Sr. Enterprise Network Engineer
Location: Remote, with 10-20% travel
Duration: Full-time, permanent
Type: W2 contract, paid hourly. No C2C, 1099, or third-party submissions will be accepted. Only direct W-2 candidates will be considered.

Job Description: - Maintain and deploy multi-vendor, high-availability network solutions supporting enterprise and data center environments, ensuring compliance with financial industry regulations and security standards.
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, and wireless controllers (e.g., Cisco, Arista).
- Support and implement dynamic routing and transport protocols including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and MPLS.
- Use network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform) to safely execute changes in production.
- Provide hardware and software support for enterprise wireless environments across all Jack Henry locations.
- Collaborate closely with Security, Systems, and Operations teams to deliver secure, reliable services (this is NOT a security engineer role).
- Execute disaster recovery and business continuity processes using established SOPs.
- Participate in capacity planning, network expansion, and future-proofing initiatives for banks and credit unions.
- Develop and maintain detailed network documentation-diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues on a regular basis.
- Participate in the team's on-call rotation.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical support staff.
- Stay current with emerging network technologies and make recommendations to reduce operational risk and enhance performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need to Have- 6+ years of network engineering experience in a large enterprise environment.
- Deep expertise in Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies, including VLANs, STP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and Wi-Fi.
- Hands-on experience with network automation and scripting (Ansible/Python).
- Familiarity with SD-WAN and cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
What Would Be Great to Have- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Cisco certifications: CCNP or CCIE.
- Arista certification: ACS.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI and Arista Fabric networking solutions.
- Data center or service provider routing and switching background.
- Experience deploying MOPs (Methods of Procedure).
- Experience in the fintech or financial services industry.
