VCF Operations Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a large enterprise solutions integrator, has a customer with VMware Cloud Foundation deployed and running and needs an experienced VCF Operations engineer to stand up the monitoring, observability, and management layer. This is a part-time engagement, roughly 20 hours per week for approximately 5 months, so candidates open to fractional or stacked engagements are a good fit.

If you''ve deployed and configured Aria Operations or VCF Operations in the last 18 months, we want to talk. We move fast — often from first conversation to client introduction within days.

What We''re Looking For

• Hands-on deployment and configuration experience with VCF Operations 9.x, Aria Operations 8.x, or vRealize Operations within the past 18–24 months
• Experience building custom dashboards, super metrics, custom views, and content packs. Not just using out-of-the-box content
• Configuring alerting and reporting metrics tuned to specific customer workloads and SLAs
• Capacity planning and resource optimization: modeling future capacity, identifying reclaimable resources, rightsizing workloads
• Integration experience wiring VMware operations tooling into ITSM, SIEM, or observability platforms (ServiceNow, Splunk, or similar)
• Comfortable working embedded with a customer''s ops team over months, iterating on dashboards and alerting as needs evolve
• Strong understanding of the VCF data model — what metrics exist, what they mean, and how to surface them for both technical and leadership audiences

Nice to Have

• VCAP-DCV or VCIX certifications, particularly with an operations focus
• Experience with Aria Automation in addition to Aria Operations
• Background at a solutions integrator, MSP, or VMware partner doing Day 2 operations work for multiple customers
• Familiarity with Broadcom-era product renaming and versioning (Aria → VCF Operations transition)
