SAP BW HANA Architect

SAP HANA Upgrade Architecture The SAP BW/4HANA Upgrade Architect will be responsible for leading the end to end architecture, planning, and execution of SAP BW on HANA and BW 7.x system upgrades and transitions to SAP BW/4HANA.
The role focuses on technical architecture, system conversion strategy, risk mitigation, performance optimization, and stakeholder engagement.
Architecture & Strategy
Define and own the overall BW/4HANA upgrade or conversion architecture Assess existing SAP BW landscape (BW 7.x / BW on HANA) and recommend:
System Conversion, Shell Conversion, Remote Conversion
Design target-state BW/4HANA architecture, including:
Data models (ADSO, Composite Providers, Open ODS Views) Data flow redesign and simplification Integration with S/4HANA, ECC, and non SAP systems Upgrade & Conversion Execution Lead SAP HANA and BW/4HANA upgrade activities, including:
SAP Readiness Check
Custom Code Adaptation (SPAU/SPDD)
Simplification Item resolution
Oversee system activities:
SUM / DMO execution
Unicode and HANA compatibility handling
Ensure minimal downtime and business continuity during upgrade Data Modeling & Optimization Redesign legacy objects (InfoCubes, DSOs, MultiProviders) into:
ADSOs, Composite Providers
Optimize performance using:
HANA push down logic
Advanced DTPs and transformations
Partitioning and modeling best practices Security, Transport & Governance Design and enforce:
Authorizations and Analysis Authorizations Transport and landscape strategy Naming conventions and modeling standards Ensure compliance with SAP recommended BW/4HANA best practices Testing & Go Live Support Define testing strategy:
Unit Testing
Integration Testing
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Support cutover planning, go live, and hypercare activities Perform post go live performance tuning and stabilization Stakeholder Engagement Act as the primary technical architect for
