Role Overview
This position is for a Technical Program Manager for an AI & Autonomy team. The role involves working cross-functionally with engineering leaders across software and hardware to translate corporate strategy into detailed roadmaps. The ideal candidate is an engineer who has transitioned into a program management role, capable of managing a program from end-to-end and understanding all its components in depth. This is a contract role with a duration of at least 6 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with department leaders to translate corporate strategy into detailed product roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables.
- Ensure engineering teams understand priorities and have the necessary frameworks to execute.
- Define and manage processes and regular meetings, executing toward milestones.
- Conduct risk management by identifying, flagging, and tracking risks to ensure mitigating actions are ongoing.
- Establish standard reports to provide concise and effective communications to stakeholders.
- Drive quarterly planning to ensure team goals align with company initiatives.
- Support key cross-functional decisions across engineering, finance, and strategy.
- Create and manage dashboards and JIRA structures to track requirements.
Required Qualifications
Education: A BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent job experience is required.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, program management, or management consulting is necessary. A background in automotive, defense, medical devices, or consumer electronics with firmware development is expected. A strong track record in managing complex cross-functional projects is required.
Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of hardware and software interaction and embedded systems development is required. Candidates must have expertise in JIRA for creating dashboards and structures. A strong understanding of agile firmware and software methodologies is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Confluence.
- Industry experience with high-assurance or safety-critical systems design and development.
- Experience leading complex robotics integration projects involving multiple interdependent components.
