Role Overview
We are seeking a Part-Time Senior Data Analyst to join our team, working approximately 10-20 hours per week. This position requires the selected individual to be local to the DC Metro area for occasional travel to headquarters or other local facilities. The role involves applying expert data science skills to analyze operations, identify potential fraud, and develop programming and visualization solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply analytic techniques to detect fraud in operations.
- Analyze operations to identify potential fraud schemes, actors, and methods.
- Use scripted languages (SQL, Python, R, Java Scripts) and analytics platforms to create models, dashboards, and reports.
- Utilize business intelligence applications, including Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate), DAX, and M.
- Work with AWS or Azure services, including Databricks, Data Factory, and Data Lake.
- Coordinate with staff and customers to identify business and technical requirements, translating them into technical designs.
- Perform analysis of data for Extraction, Transformation, and Load (ETL) strategies and pattern recognition.
- Produce and maintain written documentation for all completed work.
- Provide guidance to coworkers on technical issues affecting projects.
- Ensure all quality and security guidelines are followed.
Required Qualifications
Education: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field is required.
Experience:- 7+ years of experience and skill writing coding languages such as SQL, Python, R, and Java Scripts.
- 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Power Platform (including Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) and other business intelligence applications.
- 1+ year of experience working with AWS or Azure services such as Databricks, Data Factory, and Data Lake.
- A history of accepted modeling and analyses that resulted in meaningful business impact.
Technical Skills:- Expert proficiency in common data science tools and scripted languages.
- Knowledge of business intelligence applications and reporting technologies (DAX, M).
- Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure) and ETL strategies.
- Strong relational database and querying languages experience.
Clearance & Citizenship:- Ability to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance.
- Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years and not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in that period.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degrees in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Knowledge and experience in the law enforcement and/or audit industry.
- Specialized experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) and analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks).
Compensation & Benefits
A pay rate in the range of $40.00 to $65.00 per hour is offered. There will be one bill rate regardless of hours worked in a day or workweek.
