Manhattan Active WMS Rollout Lead / Functional Consultant
Role Overview
The Manhattan Active WMS Rollout Lead will be responsible for end to end implementation and rollout of Manhattan Active Warehouse Management System across multiple distribution centers. This role will lead functional design, configuration, testing, deployment, and hypercare activities while coordinating with business stakeholders, IT teams, and integration partners to ensure a successful, scalable rollout.
Required Skills & Experience
Core Skills
8 12+ years of WMS implementation experience
5+ years hands on Manhattan WMS, with strong preference for Manhattan Active WMS
Multiple full lifecycle WMS rollouts (design go live hypercare)
Deep understanding of warehouse operations and fulfillment models
Manhattan Active Expertise
Experience with:
o Cloud native Manhattan Active architecture
o Configuration vs customization approach
o Event driven APIs and microservices
Understanding of Manhattan Active release management and continuous updates
Domain Knowledge
Retail, CPG, Manufacturing, or E commerce distribution environments
Experience with high volume, multi node distribution networks
Exposure to automation heavy warehouses is a plus
Key Responsibilities
Program & Rollout Leadership
Lead end to end Manhattan Active WMS rollout initiatives across greenfield and brownfield warehouses
Define rollout strategy, deployment waves, and site readiness criteria
Own functional solution design aligned with standard Manhattan Active capabilities and best practices
Act as the primary WMS SME for warehouse operations and IT stakeholders
Functional Design & Configuration
Conduct business process workshops (Inbound, Outbound, Inventory, Labor, Value Added Services)
Configure Manhattan Active WMS including:
o Receiving, Putaway, Replenishment
o Picking (Wave, Waveless, Zone, Cluster, Goods to Person)
o Packing, Shipping, Yard & Dock Management
o Inventory Control, Cycle Counting, Slotting
o Labor Management (if applicable)
Drive fit gap analysis and recommend standard vs extension decisions
Integration & Technical Coordination
Collaborate with technical teams on integrations with:
o ERP (SAP / Oracle)
o TMS (Manhattan / Blue Yonder / others)
o Automation systems (MHE, WCS, AMRs, AS/RS)
Support API/event based integration patterns native to Manhattan Active
Testing & Cutover
Lead SIT, UAT, and Performance Testing cycles
Develop test scenarios, scripts, and defect triage processes
Define cutover strategy including data migration, mock cutovers, and go live readiness
Support go live execution and hypercare stabilization
Change Management & Training
Support development of SOPs, work instructions, and training materials
Conduct super user and end user training sessions
Drive adoption and operational readiness at warehouse sites
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience leading multi site or global WMS rollouts
Experience working with offshore / nearshore delivery teams
Strong client facing communication and stakeholder management skills
Familiarity with Agile / SAFe delivery models
Manhattan certification (Active WMS) preferred but not mandatory
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to balance standardization with site specific needs
Executive level communication and documentation skills
Comfortable working in fast paced rollout environments
