The Mission: Systemic Resilience & Operational Integrity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a Reliability Engineer to architect and evolve the structural integrity of a high-throughput polymer compounding and chemical processing facility. This role is not merely about maintenance; it is a high-stakes engineering challenge centered on failure elimination and the optimization of lifecycle performance.

The successful lead will bridge the gap between theoretical system resilience and the physical realities of industrial-scale plastics manufacturing. By synthesizing data from control systems, mechanical wear patterns, and predictive diagnostics, you will formalize a reliability framework that ensures zero-defect production and maximum operational uptime within a complex, regulated environment.

Core Technical Objectives

  • Orchestrate the comprehensive facilities reliability protocol, ensuring all subsystems operate within precise safety, efficiency, and regulatory envelopes.

  • Engineer maintainability into the design phase of new capital projects, partnering with cross-functional teams to validate that new equipment architectures meet rigorous performance standards.

  • Formalize and deploy advanced maintenance strategies, transitioning the facility from reactive states to sophisticated Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methodologies.

  • Analyze repetitive system failures through deep-root-cause synthesis to decouple operational bottlenecks and stabilize production capacity.

  • Validate the efficacy of control systems and utility infrastructures, ensuring that safety-critical systems are hardened against potential failure modes.

  • Deploy technical mentorship and specialized training modules to elevate the tactical capabilities of the maintenance and mechanical staff.

Candidate DNA

  • Academic Foundation: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering. A specialized focus on system dynamics or material science is highly regarded.

  • Domain Expertise: 2–5 years of dedicated experience in Reliability Engineering or as a Reliability Specialist, ideally within a heavy industrial or chemical processing context (Plastics, Polymers, or Rubber compounding preferred).

  • Technical Literacy: Proven mastery of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and the implementation of value-added preventative maintenance cycles.

  • Field Engagement: A boots-on-the-ground engineering philosophy. You must possess the technical agility to pivot from high-level data analysis to active, field-based troubleshooting alongside technical crews during critical system events.

  • Structural Mindset: A background in maintenance leadership (Supervisory or Technician level) is strongly preferred, providing the practical intuition necessary to map theoretical reliability to field execution.
