AI Platform Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an AI Platform Engineer in Lehi, UT.

Summary:
We are working with a product-driven organization that is moving toward an AI-native engineering model. This role will focus on building production-ready AI platforms and internal tooling that significantly improves engineering productivity, enables automation across the SDLC, and introduces new AI-powered development capabilities.

Duties:
* AI Platform Engineer will build and maintain internal AI tooling and infrastructure that helps engineers work faster and smarter
* Design AI-enabled CI/CD workflows where AI assists with code reviews, testing, refactoring, and remediation
* Establish AI-first development standards and repository patterns so teams can easily adopt consistent workflows
* Own the reliability, performance, and monitoring of AI systems used by engineering teams
* Implement secure AI integrations with guardrails to prevent data leakage, unsafe execution, and misuse
* Create automated workflows such as ticket-to-PR pipelines and AI-assisted testing and quality checks
* As an AI Platform Engineer, you will track adoption and impact metrics such as delivery speed, code quality, and developer efficiency
* Train and enable engineers through documentation, workshops, and hands-on coaching
* Evaluate emerging AI tools and recommend practical build vs. buy decisions
* Partner with engineering leadership, platform teams, and security stakeholders to ensure alignment

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of software engineering experience (Python, TypeScript, or similar)
* Hands-on experience using LLMs and AI coding tools in real production environments
* Experience building internal developer tools and automation systems
* Solid CI/CD and cloud infrastructure experience
* Strong platform and infrastructure engineering background
* Familiarity with agent-based workflows or AI automation pipelines
* Understanding of AI security risks and mitigation strategies
* Strong documentation and communication skills
* Ability to communicate technical impact in business terms

Preferred:
* Experience with MCP servers or similar AI service patterns
* Security or compliance experience
* Experience sharing technical best practices internally or externally

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
