IT Asset Analyst - Contract

Pay Range: $30.00 - $45.00per hr
Job Description:
The IT Asset Analyst will be responsible for executing a large-scale IT asset inventory remediation project across 20-30 client locations. This role serves as the day-to-day operational lead for planning, conducting, and completing on-site physical asset audits, reconciling findings with automated discovery data, and delivering a clean, accurate system of record at each site. The position requires a highly disciplined, self-managed professional who can work independently in the field, maintain detailed project and asset documentation, and apply consistent asset governance standards across all locations. The engagement involves extensive travel throughout the Mountain West & Southwest, with week-long on-site assignments over the course of a six-month project timeline.
Required Skills:
- 2-3 years of experience in IT asset management, hardware inventory, or operational data analysis
- Proven experience conducting physical, floor-to-floor asset audits, including scanning, tagging, and reconciling hardware
- Strong understanding of IT asset lifecycle management (procurement, deployment, maintenance, retirement, disposal)
- Demonstrated ability to reconcile physical inventory with automated discovery data and resolve discrepancies
- Experience creating and maintaining formal documentation, including policies, procedures, process maps, and operational runbooks
- Highly disciplined, self-motivated, and capable of managing work independently across multiple remote sites
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy and governance
- Ability to document and maintain chain-of-custody records (location, status, assigned user) throughout the asset lifecycle
- Comfortable overseeing asset logistics including receiving, tagging, secure decommissioning, and disposal verification
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with IT, facilities, procurement, and business stakeholders
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (weekly travel) throughout the Mountain West & Southwest for on-site audit work
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including opening boxes and lifting equipment up to 50 lbs
Desired/Bonus Skills:
- Experience using Asset Panda for IT asset tracking and reporting
- Familiarity with ServiceNow IT Asset Management (ITAM) or CMDB
- Exposure to SAP LeanIX or enterprise architecture / asset modeling tools
- Experience supporting large-scale, multi-site inventory remediation or ITAM cleanup initiatives
- Understanding of ITSM and governance frameworks related to asset management
