Role: Product Owner with AI/LLM Experience

Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled Product Owner with AI/LLM experience to define, prioritize, and drive AI-enabled capabilities across Utilization Management (UM) inbound workflows. The ideal candidate will bring strong domain understanding of Elevance (ELV) processes, Provider workflows, and hands-on experience working with LLM-based use cases, cloud-native AI features, and omni-channel contact platforms such as Genesys Cloud.
This role requires strong product thinking, technical awareness, and the ability to write clear and testable requirements for AI-driven features.
Key Responsibilities
Product Vision & AI Roadmap
Develop and maintain a clear product vision for AI-powered UM inbound capabilities.
Identify opportunities to incorporate LLMs, NLP, intelligent routing, summarization, triaging, and automation into UM workflows.
Align AI roadmap with ELV program objectives and enterprise AI strategy.
Requirements & Backlog Management
Write high-quality epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria for AI and LLM-based use cases, ensuring coverage of success metrics and safety criteria.
Prioritize backlog based on business value, complexity, and risks specific to UM inbound processes.
Define test scenarios for AI workflows including prompts, fallback logic, hallucination prevention, and model evaluation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with engineering, data science, architects, and cloud teams to define input/output specifications for AI/LLM capabilities.
Work with UM operations, Provider SMEs, and ELV stakeholders to validate business rules, compliance considerations, and workflow alignment.
Serve as the liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring clarity and alignment.
AI Platform, Cloud & Integration Alignment
Partner with technical teams to integrate AI/LLM models with AWS Cloud services and Genesys Cloud routing/automation workflows.
Ensure AI capabilities align with clinical workflow triggers, provider call flows, and inbound UM decision requirements.
Agile Delivery Leadership
Lead all Agile ceremonies backlog grooming, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives.
Provide story clarifications and support for distributed team members (onsite/offshore).
Ensure readiness of AI-related stories for feature teams and data science squads.
Required Skills & Experience:
AI / LLM / Technical Exposure: Hands-on experience defining requirements for LLM-driven use cases, including prompts, evaluation methods, and test scenarios.
Understanding of NLP, embeddings, classification, and conversational AI workflows.
Ability to interpret model behavior and define data/feature readiness for AI teams.
Healthcare & Domain Expertise
(Elevance) experience strongly preferred.
Provider domain exposure including provider inquiries, UM workflows, eligibility, and prior authorization processes.
Experience working on UM inbound use cases in payer/provider ecosystems.
Platform & Cloud Skills
Exposure to AWS Cloud services (AI/ML integrations, event-driven architectures).
Experience with Genesys Cloud or other omni-channel/contact center platforms.
Awareness of event-driven data flows and real-time decisioning patterns.
Product Owner Competencies
5+ years as a Product Owner delivering enterprise products.
Ability to create detailed requirement documents and walkthroughs with technical teams.
Strong understanding of analytics, data workflows, and ML solution needs.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
