Engineering Manager | Traverse City, MI

Salary Range: $111,000 - $160,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are partnering with organizations in Traverse City that are seeking Engineering Managers. These companies are committed to building strong teams and are looking for professionals who can lead initiatives effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Oversee the design, development, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize operational efficiency and product quality.
  • Manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and technical specifications.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, implementing lean manufacturing principles and advanced engineering techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and manage the engineering department's budget and resource allocation.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and developing engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with project management and the ability to drive multiple engineering initiatives simultaneously.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and their application.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies and their use in process improvement.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management experience.
  • Experience with various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, assembly, fabrication).
