Process Engineer | Traverse City, MI

Salary Range: $68,000 - $102,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Traverse City that are seeking skilled Process Engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement and monitor process control strategies to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, and work instructions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new products and technologies into existing processes.
• Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.
• Specify and procure new equipment, ensuring proper installation and commissioning.
• Provide technical support and training to production personnel on process-related issues.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to analyze, optimize, and troubleshoot manufacturing processes using data-driven approaches.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and other engineering documentation.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP).

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification
• Experience with MES/MOM systems (e.g., Apriso, PLEX, SAP ME)
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Familiarity with automation technologies (e.g., robotics, AGVs)
• Project management experience in a manufacturing environment
