Title: IT Operations Project Manager

Location: Hybrid, Westminster (3 days per week onsite)
Salary Range: $100,000-$105,000
Summary
Seeking an experienced IT Operations Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of infrastructure and operational technology initiatives. This role serves as a key link between IT strategy and project execution, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and aligned with business objectives. The individual will manage project portfolios, resource allocation, stakeholder engagement, risk mitigation, and vendor relationships while supporting the scalability and reliability of enterprise technology environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of IT infrastructure and operations projects, monitoring scope, timelines, budgets, priorities, and overall project health.
- Develop executive-level dashboards, project status updates, and performance reporting for IT leadership.
- Identify resource constraints, project dependencies, and operational risks; recommend solutions and escalation strategies when needed.
- Collaborate with finance teams to monitor project costs, forecasts, and budget performance.
- Support resource and capacity planning to ensure project workloads align with available personnel and business priorities.
- Lead end-to-end execution of infrastructure initiatives, including cloud deployments, system modernization, virtualization, storage solutions, disaster recovery programs, network enhancements, and integration efforts.
- Create and maintain detailed project documentation, schedules, work plans, resource assignments, risk assessments, and project controls.
- Work closely with infrastructure, systems, networking, and operational teams to coordinate project activities and deliverables.
- Manage project milestones, schedule adherence, change requests, and governance processes.
- Measure and communicate project performance through key metrics including budget, schedule, quality, and risk indicators.
- Conduct post-project evaluations and capture lessons learned to improve future project outcomes.
- Develop and deliver communication strategies tailored to technical teams, leadership, business stakeholders, and end users.
- Coordinate change management activities and organizational readiness efforts for major technology implementations and upgrades.
- Facilitate training, deployment planning, and go-live support to promote successful adoption.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and proactively address concerns, expectations, and project challenges.
- Monitor project risks and issues, implementing mitigation plans and driving resolution efforts.
- Lead troubleshooting and issue-management sessions when project obstacles affect scope, budget, or timelines.
- Coordinate activities with external vendors, consultants, and service providers.
- Manage vendor deliverables, contractual commitments, service expectations, and project timelines.
- Ensure effective collaboration between internal teams and third-party partners throughout project lifecycles.
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of IT project management experience, including significant experience leading infrastructure-focused initiatives.
- Strong background in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, reporting, and portfolio management.
- Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies including cloud platforms, virtualization, networking, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and data center environments.
- Experience leading large, cross-functional projects involving multiple business units, vendors, and stakeholders.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or similar project management certification preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud transformation initiatives, infrastructure modernization, and enterprise integration projects.
- Understanding of IT service management and operational best practices.
- Experience using project management platforms such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Asana, or comparable tools.
- Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments with changing priorities and multiple concurrent projects.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to influence teams without direct authority.
