Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager with a background in medical facilities construction. This long-term contract role involves managing IT infrastructure projects within construction environments, working closely with general contractors, design firms, and various stakeholders. The position requires a hybrid work schedule with an expectation of three days per week on-site in Redwood City.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage IT projects for medical facility construction, ensuring alignment with stakeholder requirements for applications such as DAS, RTLS, Wi-Fi, VoIP, and CCTV.
- Serve as the primary liaison between IT teams, general contractors, design firms, and other project stakeholders.
- Review cabling infrastructure designs and scopes of work to ensure compliance with standards.
- Provide technical support and monitor telecommunications construction activities.
- Collaborate with network operations, architecture, and facilities teams to develop infrastructure designs and cost estimates.
- Attend design meetings, pre-construction job walks, and ongoing construction meetings.
- Oversee capacity planning and record management for copper and fiber cabling.
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to operational staff and other departments.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Ten (10) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience, including a background in California construction projects for medical facilities.
Technical Skills: Deep understanding of telecommunications infrastructure, including cabling, pathways, and industry standards. Proficient in project management methodologies, cost estimation, and stakeholder coordination.
Certifications: A Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification is required. An OSHA 30 certification is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
- Experience with applications such as DAS, RTLS, Wi-Fi, VoIP, and CCTV in a construction context.
