Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electronics & Mechanical Assembly Technician to support engineering, manufacturing, and production operations involving complex electro-mechanical systems. This hands-on role includes testing, fabrication, troubleshooting, repair, and assembly of electronic and mechanical hardware used in development, qualification, and flight-grade environments.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with avionics, electronics assemblies, wire harnesses, PCBAs, mechanical hardware, and aerospace-quality manufacturing processes. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to quality and safety standards, and the ability to work effectively in both laboratory and production environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble, repair, modify, and evaluate electrical and mechanical assemblies.
  • Build components and subassemblies for development, testing, manufacturing, and flight applications.
  • Perform operational testing, troubleshooting, checkout, and fault isolation on electronic and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Fabricate, terminate, install, repair, and test wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
  • Perform board-level assembly, soldering, component replacement, and rework activities.
  • Apply and remove polymeric materials including staking, potting, encapsulation, and conformal coatings.
  • Execute mechanical assembly activities including fastening, torque application, and hardware installation.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve assembly procedures, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
  • Inspect and certify completed work in accordance with applicable industry standards and specifications.
  • Document non-conformances and perform approved corrective actions and repairs.
  • Maintain compliance with ESD, tool control, and quality assurance requirements.
  • Support manufacturing and engineering activities on the production floor, in laboratories, and during system integration activities.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in aerospace avionics, electronics manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, or a related field.
  • Experience working in ESD-controlled environments and following tool accountability processes.
  • Proficiency with hand soldering, electronics assembly tools, and board-level rework.
  • Experience using basic electronic test equipment such as:
    • Digital Multimeters (DMM)
    • Power Supplies
    • Continuity Testers
    • Bench Test Equipment
  • Experience applying torque requirements to fasteners and mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience fabricating, terminating, installing, and testing wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience performing inspections to established quality standards and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work a 4x10 schedule with occasional overtime as needed.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of experience supporting aerospace, launch vehicle, propulsion systems, avionics manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Experience with:
    • PCBA repair and component replacement
    • Flight hardware assembly
    • High-voltage or energized power systems
    • Battery systems
    • RF assemblies
  • Knowledge of industry standards including:
    • IPC-A-610
    • IPC/WHMA-A-620
    • J-STD-001
    • IPC-7711/7721 Rework Standards
    • Space Addendum Requirements
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications, electronic work instructions, manufacturing execution systems (MES), and configuration management tools.
  • Experience documenting non-conformances and executing disposition-based repairs.
