Electrical Engineer | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $78,000 - $123,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and tests electrical systems and components for manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoots and resolves electrical issues in production machinery to minimize downtime.
• Implements and maintains electrical safety standards and procedures.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems into new and existing manufacturing processes.
• Selects, configures, and calibrates sensors, actuators, and control systems for automated production lines.
• Develops and reviews electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation.
• Participates in the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes through electrical system optimization.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical design, testing, and troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical) for schematic design and panel layouts.
• Strong understanding of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial control systems.
• Experience with safety standards and regulations (e.g., NFPA 70E, OSHA).
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues in production machinery.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with robotics or automation systems
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles
• Proficiency in a programming language such as Python or MATLAB for data analysis or scripting
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP) or demonstrated experience leading complex projects
• Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET)
