**Requirements**:

• 5+ years of experience
• Active AWS Certified Developer certification
• Bachelor's Degree
• Familiarity with tools such as: AWS API Gateway, Lambda, S3, Git, Jenkins, EC2, Step Function, Hive, Glue Catalog, Spectrum, Athena, S3, SNS SQS

Title: AWS Cloud Developer

Location: Hybrid on site in Washington, DC

Duration: 6 months contract to hire

Pay rate on contract: $50 - $60 per hour contingent upon experience

Salary upon conversion: $100,000 - $130,000 annually

Job Description

Serve as an AWS Cloud Developer on an Agile team, providing engineering and database development support for cloud-based services and data pipelines. The AWS Cloud Developer will support the migration, transformation, and optimization of data and algorithms into AWS cloud environments, including Redshift and RDS.

• Design, develop, test, and implement AWS cloud-based solutions as a hands-on Developer
• Perform database development, data engineering, and ETL development using AWS-native services
• Build and maintain scalable ETL pipelines leveraging AWS tools and Python
• Develop and optimize SQL-based data solutions across PostgreSQL/Postgres, Redshift, and RDS environments
• Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, and task estimation as a Cloud Developer
• Perform data validation, code development, and quality assurance checks
• Support database planning, modeling, and database development efforts
• Contribute to system design, development, and cloud deployments
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to Developer best practices
• Provide status updates within Agile ceremonies and weekly reporting

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience OR High School Diploma with 9+ years of experience
• Strong experience as a Developer working with AWS services and cloud environments
• Proven database development experience with PostgreSQL/Postgres, Amazon Redshift, and RDS
• Strong proficiency in SQL development, performance tuning, and query optimization
• Experience developing ETL processes using AWS services and Python
• Hands-on experience with Python (required) and XML data processing
• Experience working with XML data structures, including industry message formats such as FIXML or FPML
• Experience designing and implementing data migration strategies from on-prem data warehouses to cloud (Redshift, RDS)
• Experience working with structured and semi-structured data formats including XML
• Familiarity with AWS Developer tools: API Gateway, Lambda, S3, Glue, Athena, etc.
• AWS Developer Certification required
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CFTC agency clearance
