Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our Payments organization and help drive strategic initiatives across critical payment platforms and processes. This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating complex business needs into actionable requirements and delivering solutions that improve operational efficiency and customer outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings strong business analysis expertise, experience working in Agile environments, and a background in payments. Knowledge of wire transfers, SWIFT, ACH, ISO 20022, sanctions, investigations, and other payment-related processes is highly preferred.
What You'll Do
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to analyze complex business challenges and identify solution opportunities.
  • Lead requirements gathering and discovery sessions to understand business needs, document requirements, and assess impacts to systems and processes.
  • Create and maintain business analysis artifacts including user stories, use cases, business rules, process flows, validation plans, and functional specifications.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, estimation sessions, retrospectives, and reviews.
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, testing teams, and business partners throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Analyze business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend scalable solutions.
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment and communicate project updates to audiences ranging from business users to senior leadership.
  • Support testing, implementation, training, and post-production activities to ensure successful solution adoption.
  • Leverage data and metrics to measure business outcomes, track performance improvements, and support decision-making.
  • Utilize AI-enabled tools and modern analysis practices to improve productivity and accelerate requirements gathering.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Business Analyst experience.
  • Experience gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
  • Hands-on experience writing user stories and managing work within Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience collaborating across cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Payments industry experience, including one or more of:
    • ISO 20022
    • Wire Transfers
    • SWIFT
    • ACH
    • Sanctions Screening
    • Payment Investigations
    • Electronic Payments
  • Experience in financial services organizations.
  • Experience with process improvement, operational efficiency initiatives, and business transformation programs.
  • Experience defining business KPIs, measuring outcomes, and tracking benefits realization.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and modern software delivery practices.
  • Experience with AI-powered business analysis and requirements management tools.
  • Knowledge of payment operations applications such as:
    • J-Systems
    • Ops Online (1CBR)
    • PYPP
    • 1CWK
    • GMTS
    • EMTS
  • Experience creating executive-level presentations and communicating recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Background in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
