Temporary Helpdesk Technician (2 Month Contract)
Location: Onsite (M-F, 8:00-4:00 PM)
Start: ASAP
Pay Rate: $19-23/hour
Context: This role supports a highly customer focused, onsite IT team while a team member is on leave. The team culture is friendly, patient, and service oriented, with frequent interaction with non technical users. You will join a small team providing hands on hardware, imaging, and helpdesk support.

Core Skills

- Strong customer service skills, including clear communication, professional phone etiquette, and patience with end users.
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and service oriented-well suited to a supportive, user focused IT environment.
Technical Skills
Laptop Imaging & Deployment
- Experience with imaging tools (KACE experience preferred but not required).
- Ability to configure devices, apply standard images, and complete post imaging tasks.
- Basic understanding of BIOS, drivers, and hardware troubleshooting.
Helpdesk / Service Desk Support
- Ability to answer and triage inbound support calls.
- Experience with password resets, account unlocks, and basic troubleshooting (network, printers, software).
- Familiarity with ticketing processes and following documented procedures.
General Requirements
- High accuracy when following documented procedures.
- Strong reliability and attention to detail.
- Comfort working in a fast paced IT operations environment.
- Ability to escalate issues appropriately.
- Availability for the full two month contract.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Basic Active Directory experience.
- Familiarity with supporting remote or hybrid users.
- Basic Office 365 support knowledge.
Primary Tasks & Responsibilities
- Tag, test, and inventory docking stations and monitors (including used equipment).
- Image laptops and complete user setup.
- Perform monitor swaps and basic laptop repairs, including diagnosis and vendor coordination.
- Clean and organize the IT storage area.
- Conduct audits, including:
- Removing inactive users from fax systems
- Identifying remote/hybrid/resident user status
- Verifying cell phone reimbursement eligibility
- Identifying outdated apps in MFA tools
- Send basic compliance communications (e.g., reboot reminders).
- Fulfill routine ticket requests, including peripheral replacements (keyboards, mice, webcams, headsets).
- Enroll devices in Intune MDM.
- Create and apply asset tag barcodes.
